MINIBUS DRIVER -Occasional and Replacement

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The occasional bus driver provides safe, reliable, and timely transportation for seniors participating in The Teapot 50+ Centre programs and services. This role is on an as-needed basis to cover absences, evenings and/or weekends.

Key areas of responsibility

  • The implementation of the transportation services for seniors
  • Be responsible for driving 21.
  • Assist seniors in and out of the vehicle when required.
  • Be responsible for implementing the rules and regulations of the bus.
  • Be responsible for the bus during emergencies.
  • When not transporting seniors, be available to carry out duties. such as picking up and/or delivering donations, light supplies, or related messages for the centre.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the vehicle, gas, snow removal, cleaning and washing the bus before and after transporting.
  • Prepare a weekly invoice and submit it to the Executive Director.
  • Keep the Director up to date with any issues and/or concerns that may arise.  

Accountability

The bus driver will report to the Executive Director. 

Job Conditions

Replacement 

  • Upon request, evening or weekend days 
  • Salary: 22.00$

Requirements

  • Experience with seniors 

  • Must be able to function as a member of a team as well as independently

  • Bilingualism essential

  • Hold an updated bus Licence 

  • Police check prior to hiring

  • Medical/physical must be passed by a physician in accordance with an annual check up yearly. 

  • The Teapot will provide a portion of the renewal of the bus licence after a year in contract
