When routine care services at the CLSC de Dorval-Lachine were shifted over to LaSalle, it created a massive barrier for our community. For adults 50+, low-income residents, and neighbours with mobility challenges, travelling out of Lachine for basic nursing care, blood work, or routine follow-ups isn’t just inconvenient—it directly threatens people’s health and well-being.
Advocating directly to Santé Québec and the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal for a permanent, fully equipped CLSC right here in Lachine is a top priority for community development.
Key Issues & Our Action Plan:
- The Problem: The temporary move of routine services forces vulnerable Lachine residents to navigate complex public transit to LaSalle, cutting off fair, equitable access to local healthcare.
- The Advocacy Goal: We are demanding that Santé Québec prioritize a permanent, fully accessible CLSC facility in central Lachine, bringing routine nursing, home support assessments, and social services back under one local roof.
- Mobilizing Together: Real change happens when a community speaks with one voice. We have opened conversations with Concert’Action Lachine and the Table 50+ Lachine-Dorval to mobilize local residents and partners across the borough to take action together.
- The Power of Community: By uniting with partners, we are organizing senior voices to hold health authorities accountable and ensure Lachine is not left behind.
